Honey Garlic Chicken Wings

3 lbs (1 ½ kg) chicken wings, separated, tips removed
2 teaspoon salt
10 to 15 grinds black pepper
2 tsp garlic powder

> Sauce <
3 tbsp vegetable oil
2 large cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup honey
½ cup each: water, soy sauce
1 tbsp molasses

Preheat oven to 425F.   Line roasting pan with foil. Arrange wings in pan in single layer without touching. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Roast 15 minutes, until lightly browned. Turn over, roast another 10 - 15 minutes until lightly browned.

Meanwhile, in small saucepan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add garlic, saute´  until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Watch carefully, so as not to burn the garlic. Add honey, water, soy and molasses. Bring to a boil, lower heat, and simmer 10 minutes.

Pour off excess fat from wings. Pour sauce over: shake to coat. (Sauce will thicken during broiling.) Preheat broiler. Broil wings until dark brown and crispy, 5 to 8 minutes. Turn over: broil another 5 to 8 minutes.

Best if you allow the wings to sit in sauce for 8 hours before broiling.

Makes 4 main course servings or 10 snack servings.

  Tips & Ideas

Your stove's cooking elements can last longer if you follow these suggestions.

•  Never place aluminum foil under your burner drip bowls, or under your ovens baking element. This can cause the stoves burners to short out.

Instead, replace the drip pans with new ones. Elements will work more efficiently because they will reflect more heat energy towards the pan. You will get better cooking results.

•  Aluminum foil placed under baking elements reflects heat back towards the element. Do not do this, as it shortens the life of your burners.
