Zesty Style Potato Salad

2 pounds (about 6 large) red-skinned potatoes
¼ cup dry CARNATION® Nonfat Dry Milk
¼ cup water
¼ cup Dijon-style mustard
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper
2 cups 1-inch green beans
1 cup (1 large) chopped red bell pepper
¼ cup (about 4 medium) sliced green onions
Lettuce leaves (see below)

Chop potatoes to 1-inch cubes, boil until soft. Drain and place in the refrigerator to cool. Refrigerating the potatoes will allow them to firm slightly, making them easier to toss in dressing.

Combine dry milk, water, mustard, salt and pepper in small bowl until well mixed.

Combine potatoes, green beans, bell pepper and onions in large bowl. Add dressing and toss well to coat. Refrigerate for an hour.

When ready to serve, place prepared salad over lettuce leaves.

Makes 8 side dish servings.

Country Style BBQ Ribs

9 - 12 ribs (Pork or Beef)
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 large onion, chopped
¾ cup of barbeque sauce (store brand - your choice)
4 tbsp ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 bay leaf
dash of salt, pepper, & seasoned salt

Wash and place the ribs in a large boiling pot.   Boil for approximately 25 minutes. While the ribs are boiling, prepare the Country Style BBQ Sauce ..

In a large frying pan, sauté the onion in vegetable oil (at medium heat). Once the onion is soft, add the store brand barbeque sauce, ketchup & brown sugar .. reduce to low heat until ribs are done boiling, be sure to stir occasionally as the sauce will thicken.

When ribs are done boiling, drain them completely, and place back into the pot with fresh water. Add the bay leave. Bring to a boil for an additional 20 minutes. Once these ribs are done boiling, place them in a baking dish.

Sprinkle salt, pepper, and seasoned salt evenly, and top with our prepared Country Style sauce. Spread evenly completely covering the ribs.

Cover baking dish with aluminum foil. Bake at 400F degrees for 50 minutes.

Makes 4 main course servings (3 - 4 ribs each).

  Tips & Ideas

Your stove's cooking elements can last longer if you follow these suggestions.

•  Never place aluminum foil under your burner drip bowls, or under your ovens baking element. This can cause the stoves burners to short out.

Instead, replace the drip pans with new ones. Elements will work more efficiently because they will reflect more heat energy towards the pan. You will get better cooking results.

•  Aluminum foil placed under baking elements reflects heat back towards the element. Do not do this, as it shortens the life of your burners.
